Patricia Mills

I was born in Jamaica and emigrated to the UK to join my parents at the age of 14. After I left school, I joined Midland Bank, where I worked for 8 years.

I married my New Zealander husband in 1983 and we planned to move to New Zealand with our two sons. My husband was offered a job in Hong Kong and we moved there in 1990.

In Hong Kong I worked for the British Consulate for 8 years, in the British Citizen section dealing with nationality, immigration and issuing of passports. Needless to say, we didn’t make it to NZ. Thirty years later we had to consider where to retire. Penang was the perfect fit for us and we applied for MM2H.

We moved to Penang in 2020. Our children and three grandsons are happy remaining in Hong Kong and we are not too far away.

I have accepted the role of Treasurer of the IWA and will do my best for all our members.
